There’s a beautiful little lake located within the city limits of Athens, Texas, owned by the city. If it were properly maintained it would be a great recreation resource for the city and its citizens. But, its not; there’s old tires, parts of privacy fencing, bottles, and just a lot of junk in general in the lake. But there’s a nice bass and brim population, though on the small side they’re just the ticket for a light little one weight rod. I took my little kickboat and fished it yesterday, catching lots of little bass, some nice sized red ear and a bunch of smaller brimĀ .
